The American Physical Society (APS) Fellowship Program recognizes outstanding individuals in the physics community who have contributed to advances in physics through original research, innovative applications, teaching, and leadership. Each year, no more than one half of one percent of the Society’s membership (excluding student members) is recognized by their peers for election to the status of Fellow of the APS.

Dominik Zumbühl was nominated by the Forum on Industrial and Applied Physics (FIAP) of the APS and was awarded this special recognition "For quantum transport experiments in semiconductor nanostructures at low temperatures studying coherence, spins, and spin-orbit coupling including developing and deploying laboratory instruments.“
